A Present.
It was sufficient to express the desire, on Facebook..and voila', the roll has landed here in Nice, free of charge.
All this thanks to the kindness of a person I do not really know, he's just a friend of a friend....
So, I am now owner of one of the last Kodachrome Rolls of Film (Remember Kodachrome ? Originally created by God and Man, is the film onto which one of the most famous photographs of all time was taken:
It was the cover of National Geographics for June, 1985.
Anyway the story is well known, Kodachrome colors are unique, impossible to replicate (even with the custom Photoshop filter), and can be developed only up to december of this year. Than it is over. Finito.
So -- We have barely one month to shoot some analogue images with this precious roll.

La Professionista
Being a Pro Photographer means not only taking shots of beautiful flowers and blue seas...
It also means helping the "director" of a school make some money for this year activity...so, here's Anto at work with these beautiful little devils (the portrait taken are really lovely, but I cannot post them here as I don't have the parent's ok...so, to see them, you have to come to Nice in rue Dante!)

If Real Life Were Like Vox
Leggendo i tantissimi e tristi post di addio a VOX, ho trovato questo, o meglio un riferimento a questo, scritto da "typeset" nel 2007.
Occorre evitare che vada perso, per cui lo ripubblico qui (and I know that you, typeset, wont' be disappointed!)

- The neighborhood you lived in would have people moving constantly in/out of nearby houses. You could kick people out if they don't interest you enough or are rude to you, but be careful how you interact with others - the ability to boot people from your neighborhood could be turned against you as well.
- You could wake up in the middle of the night (or pretty much anytime, for that matter) and immediately see what your friends have been up to recently. Unless they've made efforts to hide it from you, of course...
- The Neighborhood Watch program's goal would be to introduce you to the best of the neighborhood.
- You could cruise the neighborhood at will, but in order to get out of your car and actually talk to someone, you would need to "identify" yourself. This would lead to a lot less door-to-door salesmen, and the few you find would get kicked out of the community as soon as you reported them to the authorities.
- You could spy on your neighbors whenever you wanted, without their knowledge (unless they were keeping an eye out for stalkers.)
- Starting a conversation with someone that interests you would be as easy as instant messaging them "Hi", without any regard for geographic locations, times of day, or IM usernames. However, for now, you better keep track yourself of what you've said privately to someone else, because nobody else is going to do it for you.
- There would be tons of cliques around, but unlike the cliques you saw in high school, these would welcome new members who share the same interest. Plus, you can co-exist in two cliques at once without anyone calling you out on it (usually).
- You could spend all day sitting at home on your couch in your pajamas while you talk to countless people, and nobody would know (or care!)
- Your photo albums would be simultaneously displayed on your mantle and in every other house in your neighborhood.
- You could find out pretty much immediately what someone thinks about your thoughts - although you might have to go somewhere special to hear all of their opinions, if they're especially verbose.
- Every day, you would get a visitor coming to your door to ask you a new question, or urging you to show offsomething you have or can find on a specific topic.
- You could scan for people's thoughts on a specific topic, as long as they made an effort to label their thoughts with the key-words you're searching with. Or you could just browse haphazardly and find something that captures your imagination.
- If you're handy with your mobile phone, you could be at home even when you're not near your house.
- There would be a group of concerned citizens (probably also neighbors of yours!) who are constantly working to improve your life and make it easier for you to do the things you want to do.

old orange friend
When the than new shuffle was announced, last year or so, I for some reason stopped using an old friend, the orange shuffle.
I used other Apple stuff... First came the iPhone, and then the iPad.
All great multimedia magic machines, but none as convenient, and "nice to touch" as that shuffle.
Last week, SJ announced the "new shuffle", small and beautiful, and...as orange as my old friend. That was still there, waiting for me, battery charged (!) with his 2008 playlist.

So the time has come to put the final full stop to the Blog on VOX
E cosi' e' arrivato il giorno di chiudere il Blog su VOX.
It's a sad decision.
E' una decisione triste.
For many people, Vox meant getting in contact with new friends all over the world, discovering new ideas and images.
Per molte persone Vox ha significato entrare in contatto con nuovi amici in tutto il mondo, scoprendo nuove idee e nuove immagini.
For me, much more.

I' entered VOX as I was following Luca Viscardi's "peripezie" while trying to get a then brand new iPhone 1.
Sono entrato in VOX perche' interessato alle peripezie di Luca Viscardi che cercava di farsi arrivare un iPhone 1, la novità del momento
And also as I was interested in what was about to happen to his creature, Play Radio.
E anche perche' ero interessato alla sorte della sua radio, Play Radio.

Six Apart decided to shutdown VOX this september
Six Apart ha deciso di chiudere VOX, questo settembre.
Many people expected it, many have already moved away.
Molti se lo aspettavano, molti se ne sono gia' andati.
But we could not.
Ma noi non potevamo.
Our story was born here.
La nostra storia era nata qui.
And then, no other platform still comes close to Vox functionality, even now, 4 years after Vox birth and 2 years after Six Apart stopped developing it.
E poi, nessun'altra piattaforma di Blogging e' mai arrivata ad avere tutte le sofisticate funzionalità di Vox, anche oggi, 4 anni dopo la nascita di Vox, e due anni dopo che lo sviluppo della piattaforma e' cessato.
