Inter-missio

Champions League Final tonight. 

Meaning that it is now 4 years that HD TV is available in Italy (thanks to mr. Murdoch), and also that it is now summertime.

After working till about 7 pm at our "fotodigital" Store (...in France!)  we "decided" (or I shall say I convinced Anto to) take a walk around Nice.

Here's what we saw...

Most bars were tuned on TF1, showing a football match.

On the way back home, we stayed on the promenade, with its beautiful colors...

..Back home, I recognised someone on Tv. Someone carrying a "coppa". 

A very kind person, that allowed us to take a picture of him in my (then)  store, the Apple store in Como, italy...

Giusto per curiosita', ho guardato il valore dell'euro rispetto alle altre currency importanti (dollaro, sterlina e Yen).

I grafici qui sotto parlano chiaro, e questo nonostante l'incertezza sulla solidità del governo inglese.

Grand Prix in C*I*N*E*R*A*M*A

Grand Prix 1966 Monaco lap-1

After seeing the "historic GP" last saturday I could not resist and searched for the 1966 movie "Grand Prix".

It turns out it was filmed in CINERAMA (three strips of film on a very large, curved screen) - something that can now only be seen in seattle, thanks to Paul Allen... (more info here)

So the above is the Montecarlo lap, in glorious wide-screen format.

However it is lacking the scene that scared me so much at age six, which I've found here, at the end of this video...enjoy.

Hi Beach

Last week I took   a picture of the beautiful "HI BEACH" just in front of home.

Here it is (was)...

Close to the Heart.

When Impossible finally delivered their integral instant film, some 38 years after Dr. Land did

 they knew how unstable and "care-needing" their film was.

They re-invented Polaroid film, by buying out an entire former Polaroid factory that was about to be dismanteled. 

They hired some chemical geniuses, and re-created the integral instant film: So now we have PX, the "first flush" of reborn instant photography. But this is an old, young film and care is needed.

So, as I stated before, the instructions calls for protecting the blue image from the sun rays as soons as it is ejected, and placing it close to the heart, to make it feel we love it.

And this is exactly what Anto did today in Montecarlo, for the Historical grand Prix:
